Lisa believes in the importance of tailoring teaching methods to meet each student’s unique needs, ensuring they receive the necessary resources to thrive. She currently is teaching ELL students at Pine Creek Elementary in Bennington, designing curriculum to help them hone English language skills. She continues to train teachers, planning and facilitating professional development sessions.

Driven by a commitment to community education, Lisa’s primary goal in seeking a position on the Nebraska State School Board is to ensure that curriculum aligns with Nebraska state standards and reflects the values of Nebraskans. She firmly believes in granting teachers the autonomy they need to focus on literacy. Lisa is acutely aware of the rising rates of dyslexia and declining literacy scores, underscoring the urgency for educators to be adequately trained to address that challenge.

Recognizing the impending teacher shortage, Lisa understands the importance of state board members who comprehend the requirements for teachers to succeed. She aims to foster a collaborative environment, bringing together parents, educators and administrators, to focus on what’s best for students.

Lisa staunchly advocates for redirecting tax dollars towards essential educational priorities and returning to fundamental principles. With her experience in ELL instruction, passion for differentiated teaching, and commitment to conservative values, Lisa is dedicated to promoting excellence in education, supporting teachers, and ensuring high-quality education for Nebraska’s youth.

Lisa and her husband Dan, reside in Bennington, Nebraska. They spend a significant amount of their free time taxiing their 4 very active children – ages 6 through 13 – between a variety of extracurricular activities.
